1972 Datsun 240Z Racecar vs Restoration

I fell in love with the  Datsun 240Z when I had a red one at 16 years of age. I thought I was "Mr.Cool", racking up 38 points in 2 years, when they took my DL away for 2 years and fined me a few grand. It was just before computers could add up and alert on points totals, which is the only reason I kept my DL that long!

Years later, I bought a rough example and built a racer from a  1972 body and 2800 block. 

Below: A few years later I purchased a spare/parts car, 

but it was so rough (rusty) I couldn't get it safetied! 

After dragging it around for 20 years I finally decided to save it, 

putting in new floors, quarters, paint and interior.
